MIPTV 2016: Resounding Success for ORF’s wildlife line up

ORF-Enterprise succeeds with ORF's wildlife brand UNIVERSUM!

"Following up our annual focus on wildlife at MIPTV, we are pleased to see that the demand for ORF's premium brand UNIVERSUM is continuously growing", Marion Camus-Oberdorfer, Head of Content Sales International, summarizes the considerable output of blue-chip wildlife documentaries of the broadcaster's Natural History Unit.

DR (Denmark) picked up a selection of Universum documentaries, amongst them the award-winning documentaries "Africa's Wild West" and the bestselling 4K Ultra HD highlight "Wild Venice".
In addition, DR and SVT (Sweden) committed to the next 4K two-parter "The Canary Islands" which will premiere this fall at MIPCOM 2016.

A selection of ORF Universum highlights will soon enchant audiences in Thailand (Thai PBS). The package includes multi-awarded "Making an Ancient Forest", which has also been picked up by DR (Denmark), EBS (Korea), RAI (Italy) and France 5. The French broadcaster selected the documentary together with further titles from ORF's wildlife line up.

Bangkok Business Broadcasting picked up a 40+ hours package of documentaries from ORF's catalog.

Fox Networks Group Italy will soon air the newest seasons of ORF's "Four Women and a Funeral" as well as a thrilling crime package of 90-minute spin offs of the successful TV-series "Fast Forward".

ORF-Enterprise's continuously extended current affairs offer pays off: A curated selection of titles from the strand "World Journal" will soon air in Switzerland (SRF).

Knowledge Network (Canada) secures the broadcast of musical highlights such as the two annual events "Springtime in Vienna" and "Christmas in Vienna", as well as the recording "Karajan: Requiem by Brahms" from ORF's historic music archive and Claudio Monteverdi's "Selva Morale e Spirituale" from the concert series "Baroque Treasures".

Various broadcasters showed interest in the documentary "Mother Teresa - Saint of Darkness", which has been recently sold to the Latin American broadcaster VIP2000.

A remarkable VoD-package consisting of wildlife highlights including the amazing documentaries "Secrets of Bumblebees", "Planet Sparrow" and "Buddies - How Dog Discovered Man" has been licensed to the VoD-platform Super Movie Entertainment (China).

The two Jackson Hole Award winning documentaries "On a River in Ireland" and "A Tiger Called Broken Tail" will soon be available worldwide on the SVoD platform curiositystream.com.
