MIPCOM 2015: ORF-Enterprise on top with scripted formats and wildlife

ORF-Enterprise emphasizes its leading position with ORF's wildlife brand Universum at MIPCOM in Cannes (5th to the 8th of October 2015) while ORF's scripted format JANUS makes its way to the US.

ORF-Enterprise scores with ORF Universum wildlife highlights
Jackson Hole 2015 nominee "Vanishing Kings - Lions of the Namib" was acquired by National Geographic Channels International, Explora (CA) and SVT (SE).

International Emmy Award 2015 nominee and bestselling documentary "Africa's Wild West" has now been picked by Sweden's SVT and Iceland's RUV.

Explora (CA) additionally secured the rights for further ORF Universum highlights with the Ultra HD 4K documentary "Wild Venice" as well as "Return of the Hoopoe", "The Wild Balkans" and "The Dolomites - In the Heroes' Garden", a mountainous blue chip which was also acquired by YLE (FI).

Italy's RAI Uno will soon air "Triumph of the Tomato", awarded with the Silver Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2014, and the enigmatic documentary "The Voynich Code".

Al Jazeera (MENA) picked several hours of documentaries, amongst them the historical docudrama "Gonsalvus - The Real Beauty and the Beast" as well as further titles of ORF's current affairs line up.
"Interfaces - Our Digital Life", was sold to RDI (CA) and AB Droits (FR) completing their package with the historical documentaries "First on Mount Everest" and "Prisoners of War".

Ushuaia (FR) secures the broadcast of four episodes of John Murray's "Last Nomads".

A curated selection of ORF Universum highlights will soon be available worldwide on the brand new SVoD platform curiositystream.com.

ORF's TV-Event Series "Janus" goes US
On Monday, October 5th at this year's MIPCOM, Luc Besson's EuropaCorp TV Studios USA picked up the scripted format rights of ORF's mystery series "Janus", written by the young, innovative Austrian writers duo Jacob Groll and Sarah Wassermair. A pilot script has been ordered by US network ABC.

International interest in Austrian Fiction
A big TV-film package has been sold to CAT Co LTD (UA) including the movies "Father's Day", "His Mother & Me", "Small Fish" and "How to Steal a Kiss". MVS (MX) acquired the twin pack movie "The Christmas Dog" and "2 Christmas Dogs".

Romance TV (DE) picked the complete romantic series "White Beauty".

Musical highlights and Children's Programming
Acclaimed director Robert Dornhelm's staging of the open air opera event "Aida" will delight the Brazilian audience of Globosat with its musical highlights. TPBS (TH) is going to air the first seasons of the entertaining kids series "Get the Knack!".
