2013 INTERNATIONAL EMMY® AWARDS Semi-Final Round of Judging, Vienna
In Vienna, 48 jurors from 15 countries in 4 categories evaluated 18 submissions in the categories of cultural programmes, children non-fiction, children TV, movie, mini series and documentary. On average, the juries deliberated for 8 hours in order to make recommendations for the best nominees for the grand finale at the International Emmy® Gala in New York on 25 November.
The jury consisted of TV experts from the following countries:
China, Qatar, Dubai, England, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Austria.
THE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES
International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is a
membership-based organization in which leading media outlets and
entertainment figures from over 50 countries and 500 companies from all
sectors are represented. The members meet three to four times per year
in order to propose standards and promote philosophies for the future of
a quality-oriented, global TV programming.
The committee deliberates
on the rules and regulations for the International Emmy® Awards as well
as the management of the organization. The Board of Directors has its
largest meeting in November on the day of the International Emmy Awards
Gala in New York City.
The Academy was founded in 1969 to promote
excellence in international television programming and is the
organization that presents the International Emmy Award in 20 categories
to the best television programmes produced, and initially aired,
outside the U.S.
THE INTERNATIONAL EMMY AWARDS
November, the Academy presents the International Emmy World Television
Festival and the International Emmy Awards Gala in New York City. The
Festival screens the current year's nominated programmes and features
unique producers and directors who speak about their work. Every year,
this black-tie event attracts over 1,000 major figures in broadcast,
entertainment and media from around the world.
The only EMMY events
hosted outside of the U.S. are the semi-final rounds of judging, which
are hosted once per year throughout South America, Europe and Asia.
