Award for Vanishing Kings - ORF "Universum" wins at the 1st International Big Cats Film Festival in New York

Vienna, March 05th 2018

ORF's Universum documentary "Vanishing Kings - The Lions of the Namib" won the price in the category "Science and Behavior" in the first ever Big Cats International Film Festival hosted by the renowned Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival in cooperation with the United Nations.

The internationally award-winning documentary by Will and Lianne Steenkamp was co-produced by ORF, ARTE, Smithsonian Channels, Into Nature Productions, Boksdocs in association with ORF-Enterprise and produced by Interspot Film.

With John Murray's "A Tiger Called Broken Tail" another "Universum" documentary won in the category "Issues and Solutions".

The winners were announced at the UN Headquarters in New York as the world celebrated World Wildlife Day 2018 under the theme "Big cats: predators under threat".

Both multi-awarded documentaries are distributed by ORF-Enterprise.
