Moritz Eisner has a serious problem: He has been shot and as a result has retrograde amnesia. In other words he can remember some things, but others not at all. Furthermore, nobody knows what he was doing. Despite being sick, Moritz looks in his office for clues, but his boss sends him home again. Eventually Eisner sets out to discover what actually happened. He takes up residence in the local inn, where the incident took place, and is soon recognised by some of the village's inhabitants. Little by little, pieces of the puzzle come to light, and when a body is found in the quarry belonging to Herr Wiegele (Juergen Maurer), where Moritz was also shot, it seems that the case might have something to do with the far-right movement.
